Review: NYX Micro Brow Pencil Black

08:38:00

For my black brows it's almost mission impossible to find decent brow product in our drugstores. And if I find it, I usually don't like the formula. However I didn't get this in our drugstores, but it's pretty easy to buy it online and it's not that expensive.

The packaging is black with white writing on it. On one side is twist up pencil and on the other is spoolie, which is well made and soft.

It contains 0.09 g of a product and cost around 10€. Price tag differs on where you buy it (Moja drogerijaFeeluniqueCult beauty).

The texture is just right, not creamy or too stiff. Without pressure you get the pigmentation for the natural brows. The pencil is slim enough so you can be precise with it and draw single hair strokes. On me it lasted the whole day, without fading or smudging.

I think it's worth the price and checking out. The pigmentation is just right for everyday look, it's precise, the longevity is good and they offer good shade selection. The only minus is that you don't get a ton of product and if you use it on a daily basis, you'll use it up quickly.

And what do you prefer using on brows? Pencil, powder or pomade?

Freedom

Review: Freedom Pro Decadence Rock & Roll Palette

04:15:00

Freedom is a sister brand of Makeup Revolution, but I'm sure everybody knows this by now. While no Makeup Revolution palette shook the ground under my feet, this one definitely did and it deserves its own post. For such a low price these shadows perform really good. There are a few shadows in the palette that don't perform as good as other, but for such a low price that's not a big deal, atleast for me.

The packaging is a standard shiny black case, which screams after finger prints all over. It has a mirror inside, which is a big plus for me. It comes with double sided sponge aplicator, which is useless.

It contains 18g of product and you can get it for 10,95€ on ličila.si or their official website.

The color scheme in this palette screams my name, since I like doing colorful eye makeup and neutral colors seem mostly dull. Most of the time, I use this palette in combination with other more neutral palettes, due to lack of matte shades.

Palette offers shimmery, satin, matte, duochrome and matte with small chunks of glitter eyeshadows. Eyeshadows feel soft and buttery and they have good pigmentation with some exceptions. Mattes are easy to blend, while shimmer shades tend to crease on my lids, since they're even more buttery than matte and feel almost like a cream.

1 - shimmery light champagne. This one doesn't have wet like texture and it's slightly less pigmented in comparison with other shimmer shades.
2 - shimmery light cool brown. Feels like a cream and has good pigmentation.
3 - satin brown. Good pigmentation.
4 -  warm gold shimmer. Cream like texture and good pigmentation.
5 - warm bronzy brown shimmer. Cream like texture and good pigmentation.
6 - brown with gold  glitter. The biggest disappointment in this palette. It has drier texture, poor pigmentation and has a ton of fall out.
7 - matte grey mauvey color. This one is slightly less pigmented.
8 - plumy matte. Good pigmentation.
9 - matte black. Decent pigmentation for a drugstore black eyeshadow. It has the driest texture among other matte shades.
10 - matte black with silver glitter. Slightly less pigmented than previous black shade.

11 - burgundy matte with small glitter. Good pigmentation and blendibility.
12 - brown shimmer with reddish sheen. It has drier texture although it's nicely pigmented.
13 - burgundy matte with gold glitter. Swatches patchy and has drier texture. Altough I didn't have problems while applying it with a brush and blending it out. It's quite similar to shade 11, just that it leans more on the brown side.
14 - lilac matte. Very poor pigmentation.
15 - dark greyish lilac satin. Less pigmented.
16 - violet satin. Good pigmentation.
17 - duochrome blue with violet base. This one is by  far my favorite. It's more on the sheer side, but it can be nicely build up over a black base.
18 - blue matte with silver glitter. Good pigmentation.
19 - green shimmer. Good pigmentation.
20 - forest green shimmer. Good pigmentation and drier texture than other shimmer shades.

I personally don't like that there are two blacks in the palette, one would be enough. The pigmentation and texture isn't consistant, but in general they're good. They don't fade through out the day (but none of them fade on me, so keep that in mind) and creamier shimmers tend to crease on me after few hours. Overall I think this palette is worth the money, even though it has a few duds. If you're looking for affordable and good colorful eyeshadow palette, look no further.

Some looks I did, using this palette.

foundation

Review: Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless 105 Natural Ivory

09:10:00

I'm not quite impressed with this foundation. I just had high hopes for it and it didn't deliver. It's not that it has lighter coverage, I even started to love that and usually I like more heavier coverage. I made it work with Catrice Illuminating Serum primer and essence get picture ready! powder to look decent from afar. On my nose it broke apart not long after the application and it clung to the dry patches I didn't even knew I have.
[Update: After a month I realised, that my skin was in bad shape while testing this foundation. In fact now I quite like it, even using it on it's own. It still can cling on dry patches, just not so badly and it looks way prettier on my skin than before. My opinion on staying power is the same.]

Matte + Poreless comes in a squezy tube. I would prefer standard packaging with the pump, since it can get messy because of it's liquid formula. That reminds me on the Affinitone foundation, which was runnier and the mess was awfull.

As I mentioned before it has more of a liquid formula. It's similar to the original Fit Me foundation, just that it has matt finish. I prefer to aplly it with Miracle Complexion Sponge from Real Techniques. The sponge sucks up a lot of product, since I squezed out a generous amount of product three times for one layer on my face. It doesn't make me poreless, as they claim.

It has light to medium coverage, but definetly not full as it is described on their website. It layers without a problem.

It has a yellow undertone to it, but nothing too obvious. The shade Natural Ivory is quite light, but there's one lighter shade 110 Porcelain. You see what they did here? 110 is lighter than 105, which is missleeding.

From left to right: Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless 105 Natural Ivory, Maybelline Fit Me concealer 15 Fair, L'oreal Infallible 24h-Matte 11 Vanilla, L'oreal Infallible 24h Stay Fresh Foundation 200 Golden Sand.

I'm not impressed with staying power on my oily T-zone. I get oily after 2 hours, which is too quickly since this is meant more for oily skin. On other parts of my face it lasts for 8 hours with no problem. And dry emphasized patches became even more emphasized after 2 or 3 hours.

Matte + Poreless on my face.

When I was checking on the price in our drugstores (Tus drogerija and DM), I actually coudn't find it. But I'm guessing it costs around 8€. In Slovenian drugstores there are 4 or 5 shades available , while in Austria there are more.

Overall I don't think it's a bad foundation, but it's not the best either. I can make it work with right primer and powder. I will still use it up, either alone for more natural look or for mixing it with other foundations. In my opinion it works the best for normal skin type.

Review: Catrice Stylo Eyeshadow Pen 030 Copper and Paste

03:15:00

Packaging: Black packaging with copper lid and on the back of the "pen" is a hidden sharpener. They have a twist up design, but you can't twist the product back in, which is a bummer.

Texture: It's very easy to blend and it has shimmer in it. Compared to Artdeco High Performance Eyeshadow Stylo this one doesn't loose as much pigment when it's blended and it needs more time to set.

Color: Light copper with some orange undertones.

Staying power: With a primer underneath and powder eyeshadow over the top it stays on my lids for around 10 hours without creasing.

Price and availability: You can get it in drugstores for around 4€.

Review: Essence Matt Matt Matt Lipstick 08 It's a Statement

00:27:00

Probably you already heard a lot of people rave about new Matt Matt Matt lipsticks from Essence. I'm all about matt lipsticks, so I had to try it out. When I swatched it in the store, it seemed better than their previous matt version of lipsticks. So I decided to take the shade 08 It's a Statement, since it was screaming fall to me.

Texture: It's creamy, but a little bit patchy. I need 3 layers to make it even. Because of that, I prefer to use it with a lipliner underneath. Pigmentation is good, compared to their previous matt line it's way better in my opinion. The finish is semi-matt.

Color: In the tube it looks brown, but once you swatch it or put it on the lips it's deep cool toned burgundy shade.

Staying Power: The staying power is not that impressive. This shade wears off horribly, everytime I drink or smoke I have to reapply it, since it wears off very patchy. Even if you do nothing, it still wears off patchy. I could not say how long this could last, but for me definetely not more than 1 hour.

Scent: Reminds me on fruity vanilla scent.

Packaging: I like the packaging, it seems to be sturdy enough and better quality than the previos matt version (one of mine is broken). The lid is the same color as lipstick, but you can still see trough it.

Price and availability: You can get it in drugstores for around 3€.

Overall I have love-hate feelings about this lipstick. I adore the shade, but I won't be wearing it a lot since it needs high maintenance. Reapplying every hour or less is not what I really want. I like that Essence improved the finish, now it looks properly semi-matte and the packaging is also better, but the lipsticks still lack of longevity. And for that price point you can still find better ones, such as Golden Rose or Jordana.

What do you think about new Matt Matt Matt lipsticks?

Kiko Milano

Review: Kiko Milano Water Eyeshadow 208 Light Gold

05:54:00

A while ago I was at the Kiko Milano store in Seiersberg in Austria and I had to pick up one of the water eyeshadows, since everybody seems to love them.

Packaging: Small matte black compact, that is sturdy. Inside it has a small mirror. The most eye-catching thing is definitely 3D pattern on the eyeshadow.

Texture: Eyeshadow has a creamy texture and the pigmentation is insane. Especially when you use it wet. It can have a bit of a fall out when used dry, but once you wet it, that goes away. It applies nicely and evenly, brushes pick up the eyeshadow well. Some even use it as a highlighter. If you can pull it off, do it. I can't use it as a highlighter, since it looks glittery on me and it emphasizes every imperfection that I have.

Color: It's light, warm golden shimmery color.

On the left is swatched dry and on the right wet.

Staying power: Used wet it stays on the lid a whole day without creasing and fading.

Price and availibility: Kiko Milano store and online for 8.99€.

Overall I highly recommend it, since it is an amazing eyeshadow. But I would recommend to wait for their sales online, since it has a bit of a bigger price.

Did you tried their water eyeshadows? Or anything else, if yes, what is your opinion?

Milani

Review: Milani Amore Matte Lip Creme 14 Devotion

07:01:00

Hello!

You've probably already heard of Milani Amore Matte Lip Cremes. These were on my wishlist for ages and I finally decided to try them out, since my weakest spot are any kind of lipsticks lately. I've read and watched a ton of good reviews about them, so my expectations were really high. My first impressions? Not that quite good. After one cigarette and a drink, lipstick on my inner side of the lip started to crumble a lot. Then I decided to try to make it work, so I exfoliated and moisturezed the hell out of my lips. I made it work, this lip cream is AMAZING.

Texture: It's a creamy and very pigmented lip cream. It dries down to a matte finish quickly, within a minute or so. They can feel lightweight or like a layer on your lips, depending how you apply it. If you apply a thin layer it will feel lightweight, but then the colour appears lighter than actually is. And if you apply a more thicker layer, it can feel like you have some layer on your lips and a bit uncomfortable. I don't find them to be uncomfortable or drying, but some people might do, so keep that in mind. It can apply a bit uneven, if you layer it a lot while it's still wet.

Colour:After seeing this shade of  the lip cream on me, I feel in love with red lips all over again. It's deep true red.

Staying Power: Amore Matte Lip Cremes are really long lasting ones. I had it on for a whole working day, which is 10 hours and when I came home only the inner part of my lip was worn off. However it won't survive a greasy meal.

Scent: It has some kind of vanilla scent, which fades away after it dries down.

Packaging: A square plastic tube with a flat doe foot applicator. It has a gold cap and gold writting on the tube, which I find expensive looking.

Price and availability: Mine is from MojaDrogerija, where it costs 12,35€. You can also get it on Click2Chic and Beauty Joint.

Review: ESSENCE Make Me Brow 02 Browny Brows

02:36:00

A while ago I started buying more products from Essence, cause it seems like everyone likes something from this brand. I was avoiding their products since one of their eyeliners gave me an alergic reaction in high school. I was trying to be on a budget and the only thing I got were swollen and red eyelids for days. I was like, NO, not me. :D I had Make Me Brow on my wishlist for 3 months or so and everytime I went into the drugstore I was checking it out and it stayed like that for quite a time. But recently I bought it and now I think why didn't I get it sooner.

The applicator is really small, which I find great, so you can apply it on your brows effortlessly. I find that there is just enough product on the applicator.

The formula is outstanding for that price. It's a tinted gel that has a nice amount of fibers in it. This mascara thickens my brows perfectly. I personally just need a mascara to make them "perfect", since I already have pretty thick brows. Layering up the product is really easy, it doesn't become patchy, spidery or gross looking. However I did notice, that my brows feel a little bit stiff.

The packaging is a classic mascara kind of a tube, but smaller.

Overall I think that Make Me Brow is one of the hidden jems in the drugstore. Unfortunately, it comes only in two shades (Blondy Brows and Browny Brows), so if the shade fits you go and grab one, because it's totally worth it. I think it costs around 3€, so for that price you can't go wrong. Some beauty bloggers compare it with Gimme Brow from Benefit, but I woudn't know if they're dupes since I don't own Benefit one.

Catrice

Review: Catrice Cream Camouflage Concealer in 020 Light Beige

12:52:00

After I had Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer for a while, I decided to finally try out the cream version as well. I had very high expectations for this concealer and guess what? It didn't let me down.

Texture: It has a thick consistency and still creamy enough to blend it out very easily. This concealer is towarding on the full coverage, which is amazing for that price tag and I don't think anything can beat that. I don't think you can cover tattoos with it, but for sure you can cover some redness and scaring with it. Once it sets, it stays shiny and a bit sticky.

Colour: Light Beige has a warm yellow undertone and it's suitable for light/medium skin tone. In comparison with the liquid version this one is a bit darker on my face, but while I swatch it the cream version looks lighter than liquid one. Weird thing, huh?

Packaging: It comes in a classic black pot with a clear lid. It contains 3g of product, which is a good amount, since you don't need a lot of the product to cover up something.

Scent: The concealear has a light chemical scent, which you probably wont even notice. Over time while it's on your face, it disappears.

Price and avilability: You can get it in drugstores (DM; Müller,...) for around 4€.

Jordana

Review: Jordana Matte Lipstick in 61 Classic Nude

08:14:00

I've heard a lot about Jordana, so I decided to finally try something from this brand.. I chose matte lipstick in Classic Nude for starters, since I'm obsessed with lipsticks lately.

Texture: These are definitely more thicker, but still enough creamy for a smooth and even application. In comparison with Artdecos Perfect Mat lipsticks these are less creamy and more thicker. The colour is fully opaque, so one swipe on the lips is enough to coat them. It has classic matte finish that lipsticks in regular form have. I can't say how much they will dry out your lips, since my lips are fine and none of matte lipstick dry my lips.

Colour: I suck at discribing shades, so have patience or just simply skip this and see it for yourself in the picture down below. Classic Nude is a rosy brown shade, which makes it perfect for everyday wear. The first time I wore it, the shade reminded me on Artdecos Perfect Mat Lipstick in 184 Rosewood. And I was right, they look pretty much identical on my lips, but when they're swatched Jordana Classic Nude looks brighter and slightly pinkier than Artecos Rosewood.

On left Jordana Classic Nude and on the right Artdeco Rosewood.

Staying Power: It stayed on my lips around 4-5 hours, in between I was drinking a lot of water. However they won't survive a greasy meal. I find that longevity is impressive for that price.

Packaging: Oh my god, this is probably the cheapest packaging I've came across so far. Every time I use it, I'm afraid that I'm going to break it. You can't alwys get what you want, so I'd rather have amazing quality lipstick and cheap packaging, than vice versa.

Price and Avilability: I got mine from Click2chic for 2.60€. You can also get it on official Jordana Cosmetics EU site for 1.96€.

Overall I am very pleased with the lipsticks formula and longevity, so it's easy for me to overlook the cheap packaging. I recommend them to everyone who want to have a good and cheap matte lipstick.
