Beauty Rust

Review: Coloured Raine Beauty Rust

09:36:00

I got the Beauty Rust palette somewhere in December. It's a limited edition as well as other 3 mini palettes. They're 2 still available on Beauty Bay as far as I know. I mainly got it because of the mustard shade Daisy. Yes, I know, that's a stupid reason to buy a whole palette. But after all, I have nothing similar in my collection to these shades. And it's basically another warm toned palette on the market.

Packaging is cardboard with a  lovely flower design. Inside it has a small mirror.

Each shade has 1.5g of product, so in total 9g. It costs 33.50€ on Beauty Bay.

The palette contains 5 matte and 1 foil shades. However the formula between mattes isn't the same. The star between the mattes is Daisy, yet it's not a formula that everybody would like. It's comparable to mattes in Subculture palette, but even better. So that means a lot of kick back, soft to the touch, great pigmentation and blends with and ease. Other mattes are stiffer to the touch and don't have so much kick back, but they maintain that blendability. I didn't notice any fall out under my eyes with any of the shades, except with foiled Dream, but that can be fixed by applying it wet.

NATURAL - matte warm brown with some yellow undertones. Good pigmentation and blends well.
DREAM - foiled orange copper with specks of gold. It applies well with brush, fingers or wet.
NIGHTY NIGHT - matte neutral brown. Good pigmentation and blends well.
DAISY - matte mustard. The star of this palette. It has a different formula than other mattes. The formula is similar to ABH Subculture, just a bit better. Has a great pigmentation, a lot of kick back and blends with such an ease. I wish all the mattes in this palette would perform like Daisy.
RECHARGE - brick matte red. Good pigmentation and blends well.
DUSK - dark plumy brown. It translates lighter on eye lids. The biggest disappointment in this palette. Feels dry to the touch and needs a lot of layering to look decent.

Nighty Night, Recharge and Dusk crease on my lids and the color loses its intensity after 3 or 4 hours.

Natural, Recharge, Dusk and Dream.
This palette might work better for someone with eyelids that aren't oily or hooded. But for me it's not worth the full price, so I'm glad that I got it on discount. The only two shades that stand out to me are Dream and Daisy. And I can make Natural work on me, but I have to use glitter glue, otherwise it will crease. But the other three shades are useless for me. So I can't recommend this palette. And it's such a shame, since the color story is so pretty.

Did you tried anything from Coloured Raine? Or do you have something on WL from them? I'm still tempted to buy the Queen of Hearts palette.

eyebrow pencil

Review: NYX Micro Brow Pencil Black

08:38:00

For my black brows it's almost mission impossible to find decent brow product in our drugstores. And if I find it, I usually don't like the formula. However I didn't get this in our drugstores, but it's pretty easy to buy it online and it's not that expensive.

The packaging is black with white writing on it. On one side is twist up pencil and on the other is spoolie, which is well made and soft.

It contains 0.09 g of a product and cost around 10€. Price tag differs on where you buy it (Moja drogerijaFeeluniqueCult beauty).

The texture is just right, not creamy or too stiff. Without pressure you get the pigmentation for the natural brows. The pencil is slim enough so you can be precise with it and draw single hair strokes. On me it lasted the whole day, without fading or smudging.

I think it's worth the price and checking out. The pigmentation is just right for everyday look, it's precise, the longevity is good and they offer good shade selection. The only minus is that you don't get a ton of product and if you use it on a daily basis, you'll use it up quickly.

And what do you prefer using on brows? Pencil, powder or pomade?

Freedom

Review: Freedom Pro Decadence Rock & Roll Palette

04:15:00

Freedom is a sister brand of Makeup Revolution, but I'm sure everybody knows this by now. While no Makeup Revolution palette shook the ground under my feet, this one definitely did and it deserves its own post. For such a low price these shadows perform really good. There are a few shadows in the palette that don't perform as good as other, but for such a low price that's not a big deal, atleast for me.

The packaging is a standard shiny black case, which screams after finger prints all over. It has a mirror inside, which is a big plus for me. It comes with double sided sponge aplicator, which is useless.

It contains 18g of product and you can get it for 10,95€ on ličila.si or their official website.

The color scheme in this palette screams my name, since I like doing colorful eye makeup and neutral colors seem mostly dull. Most of the time, I use this palette in combination with other more neutral palettes, due to lack of matte shades.

Palette offers shimmery, satin, matte, duochrome and matte with small chunks of glitter eyeshadows. Eyeshadows feel soft and buttery and they have good pigmentation with some exceptions. Mattes are easy to blend, while shimmer shades tend to crease on my lids, since they're even more buttery than matte and feel almost like a cream.

1 - shimmery light champagne. This one doesn't have wet like texture and it's slightly less pigmented in comparison with other shimmer shades.
2 - shimmery light cool brown. Feels like a cream and has good pigmentation.
3 - satin brown. Good pigmentation.
4 -  warm gold shimmer. Cream like texture and good pigmentation.
5 - warm bronzy brown shimmer. Cream like texture and good pigmentation.
6 - brown with gold  glitter. The biggest disappointment in this palette. It has drier texture, poor pigmentation and has a ton of fall out.
7 - matte grey mauvey color. This one is slightly less pigmented.
8 - plumy matte. Good pigmentation.
9 - matte black. Decent pigmentation for a drugstore black eyeshadow. It has the driest texture among other matte shades.
10 - matte black with silver glitter. Slightly less pigmented than previous black shade.

11 - burgundy matte with small glitter. Good pigmentation and blendibility.
12 - brown shimmer with reddish sheen. It has drier texture although it's nicely pigmented.
13 - burgundy matte with gold glitter. Swatches patchy and has drier texture. Altough I didn't have problems while applying it with a brush and blending it out. It's quite similar to shade 11, just that it leans more on the brown side.
14 - lilac matte. Very poor pigmentation.
15 - dark greyish lilac satin. Less pigmented.
16 - violet satin. Good pigmentation.
17 - duochrome blue with violet base. This one is by  far my favorite. It's more on the sheer side, but it can be nicely build up over a black base.
18 - blue matte with silver glitter. Good pigmentation.
19 - green shimmer. Good pigmentation.
20 - forest green shimmer. Good pigmentation and drier texture than other shimmer shades.

I personally don't like that there are two blacks in the palette, one would be enough. The pigmentation and texture isn't consistant, but in general they're good. They don't fade through out the day (but none of them fade on me, so keep that in mind) and creamier shimmers tend to crease on me after few hours. Overall I think this palette is worth the money, even though it has a few duds. If you're looking for affordable and good colorful eyeshadow palette, look no further.

Some looks I did, using this palette.

Do you prefer neutral or colorful eye look?

Afrodita

Empties #2

09:49:00

Over few months I've accumulated a lot of empties, even some makeup pieces. I will not talk about all of them today, otherwise it would probably be super long post.

Balea Aqua Serum
I've gone through 2 of these actually. The best serum you can get for the price of 3€.
Repurchase? Already have.

Afrodita Young & Pure Refresh Toner
All I can remember is that I liked it in the summer for my oily T-zone. In the winter this was too drying on my skin.
Repurchase? I have one bottle left laying somewhere in my backup drawer. But I don't think I'll purchase another one.

L'oreal Solution Micellaire for normal/combination skin
I like this micellar water, probably even more than Garnier one. However this one is costs more than Garnier and this version had a messy packaging because of the big opening. However they came out with a new packaging which seems better.
Repurchase? Already have.

Garnier Micellar Water for combination and sensitive skin
Another micellar water. As I've mentioned before, I like the L'oreal one more, although they are both equally effective at removing makeup.
Repurchase? Maybe.

Balea Dusche & Creme Melone
One of the rare Balea shower gels, that I actually like the smell of it. Smells more like a melon with a hint of a watermelon.
Repurchase? No, the scent is not interesting enough.

I Love... Choca Mocha Lala
One of my favorite scents. It's like taking a shower with a chocolate capuccino with loads of sugar.
I crave after it most of the time I'm showering with this. I'm not gonna be all positive about it though. The issue with this one is, that it has inconsistent formula. It's like gambling, once you win, other time you loose. Well in this case, once I had it with thick consistency, the other time it was runny.
Repurchase? Yes.

Garnier Fructis Style Shine Wax
This doesn't promise much strenght, even though I don't think this should be called wax. It doesn't hold much, but it gives a lot of greasyness. At least it did to me.
Repurchase? Even if I would need a wax, I woudn't buy it again.

Gucci Bamboo
The scent isn't my cup of tea and it dissapeared after like 2 hours of wear. If I had this in full size, I would be pissed for that price point.
Repurchase? I would never buy the full size.

I Love... Mango & Papaya Nourishing Body Butter
This isn't empty, it has just gone bad, since I'm terrible at using body butters. I usually buy them, use once or twice and then forget about them. I don't think this is nourishing, but it smelled amazing.
Repurchase? No.

Maybelline Fit Me Foundation 105
This one has gone bad too. I don't even know why I still had this almost empty bottle laying somewhere hidden in my collection. This is the old Fit Me, now there's available Luminous + Smooth version. I remember that I liked the dewy finish, but disliked it's poor longevity and the fact that it oxidized on me.
Repurchase? I would like to try new version, just to see if it's different.

Catrice Even Skin Tone Foundation 010 Even Vanilla
This isn't sold anymore. I bought this one a long time ago for mixing it in with my darker foundations.
Repurchase? Even if it would be still available I woudn't repurchase it.

Maybelline Fit Me Pressed Powder 105 Natural Ivory
I don't remember much about this one, just that I liked it.
Repurchase? Maybe.

Maybelline Matte Maker 20 Nude Beige
I didn't like this one. It looked very powdery on my skin, the packaging feels cheap and it's super fragile. I dropped it twice, first time the pan fell out and the second time powder broke into million pieces.
Repurchase? NO.

Catrice Prime and Fine Pore Refining Anti-Shine Base
This one landed in my Best of 2016 post. It's a good silicone free primer for a small price. I don't think it refines pores at any means (at least not on me), but it does help makeup to last longer.
Repurchase? Already did.

Catrice Velvet Matt Eyeshadow 040 Al Burgundy
Another smashed product. It was good pigmented eyeshadow. I didn't like the color though. This line isn't available anymore.
Repurchase? No, even if I could.

foundation

Review: Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless 105 Natural Ivory

09:10:00

I'm not quite impressed with this foundation. I just had high hopes for it and it didn't deliver. It's not that it has lighter coverage, I even started to love that and usually I like more heavier coverage. I made it work with Catrice Illuminating Serum primer and essence get picture ready! powder to look decent from afar. On my nose it broke apart not long after the application and it clung to the dry patches I didn't even knew I have.
[Update: After a month I realised, that my skin was in bad shape while testing this foundation. In fact now I quite like it, even using it on it's own. It still can cling on dry patches, just not so badly and it looks way prettier on my skin than before. My opinion on staying power is the same.]

Matte + Poreless comes in a squezy tube. I would prefer standard packaging with the pump, since it can get messy because of it's liquid formula. That reminds me on the Affinitone foundation, which was runnier and the mess was awfull.

As I mentioned before it has more of a liquid formula. It's similar to the original Fit Me foundation, just that it has matt finish. I prefer to aplly it with Miracle Complexion Sponge from Real Techniques. The sponge sucks up a lot of product, since I squezed out a generous amount of product three times for one layer on my face. It doesn't make me poreless, as they claim.

It has light to medium coverage, but definetly not full as it is described on their website. It layers without a problem.

It has a yellow undertone to it, but nothing too obvious. The shade Natural Ivory is quite light, but there's one lighter shade 110 Porcelain. You see what they did here? 110 is lighter than 105, which is missleeding.

From left to right: Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless 105 Natural Ivory, Maybelline Fit Me concealer 15 Fair, L'oreal Infallible 24h-Matte 11 Vanilla, L'oreal Infallible 24h Stay Fresh Foundation 200 Golden Sand.

I'm not impressed with staying power on my oily T-zone. I get oily after 2 hours, which is too quickly since this is meant more for oily skin. On other parts of my face it lasts for 8 hours with no problem. And dry emphasized patches became even more emphasized after 2 or 3 hours.

Matte + Poreless on my face.

When I was checking on the price in our drugstores (Tus drogerija and DM), I actually coudn't find it. But I'm guessing it costs around 8€. In Slovenian drugstores there are 4 or 5 shades available , while in Austria there are more.

Overall I don't think it's a bad foundation, but it's not the best either. I can make it work with right primer and powder. I will still use it up, either alone for more natural look or for mixing it with other foundations. In my opinion it works the best for normal skin type.

Have you tried it yet?

Balea

Best of 2016

05:14:00

Catrice Prime and Fine Pore Refining Anti-Shine Base
Cheap primer, that gets the job done. It has no smell and it's silicone free. It also increases longevity of my makeup and I noticed that once when I didn't have it with me. Before I thought it was rubbish. But it's not and now I'm already on second tube.

Zoeva brushes
These brushes are amazing. They aren't exactly cheap, but they aren't expensive either. Mine have been through several cleaning, yet they look and perform the same as when I got them.

L'oreal Infallible
200 Golden Sand
The best foundation I've tried from drugstore so far. The shade selection is not the best, but slightly better than Infallible 24h - Matte. This is actually too dark for me, so I'm always mixing it with some lighter foundation to get my perfect match. The longevity of it is great (approximatley 8 hours). I have some changes in my skin during the different times of the year. In the winter it tends to get dry and in the summer I have oily T-zone. It works for me in all seasons. It has good medium, buildable coverage.

Balea Reinigungs Öl
Great oil for removing makeup that's cheap. Balea did a bad move when they decided to discountinue makin this product, since it was so hyped up. Bad move, Balea.

I Love...
Cherry Almond Sparkle
I must confess that I'm a shower gel horder. This shower gel is to my nose pure perfection. When I start to rub it in my skin I smell pure cherry and after a few seconds comes that gentle almond scent.

Catrice Liquid Camouflage
005 Light Natural, 020 Light Beige
A budget friendly concealer that has medium, yet buildable coverage. It doesn't cover tattooes as it claims, but it is indeed waterproof. It turns slightly darker on my face as it is in the tube.

Real Techniques Miracle Coplexion Sponge
This is my second sponge, first one was ripped apart by my lovely dog. Game changer in my makeup routine, I use it for foundation, concealer and even for setting my face. If you're looking for affordable beauty sponge, I hardly recommend this one.

Milani Amore Matte Lip Creme
32 Emotion, 14 Devotion
They deserved their place in my Best of 2016 because of the great longevity. If you eat a greasy meal, it will melt down, otherwise it last a long time (on me for around 10 hours). I have to use something moisturizing underneath to make it work and it starts to feel a bit drying after 5 hours on my lips.

61 Classic Nude
Another one that's here because of the longevity. It's cheap and performs great, what else you could wish? Oh right, better packaging. The packaging is really bad quality, so I'm super careful with it when I'm taking the lipstick with me.

Nyx Slide On, Glide On, Stay On & Definetly a Turn On Waterproof, Extreme Shine Eye Liner
Golden Bronze
And the award for the longest name goes to this product. I hate the long name it has and can't help my judgy self. On the other side I adore its longevity on my waterline and the color is beyond amazing. Perfect eyeliner pencil for bronze lovers.

02 Browny Brows
I can't do my makeup without this gel. I'm obssesed how good my eyebrows look with it, it gives them some thickness and they stay in place all day.

 Dita Von Teese
Erotique
Another product that's discountinued from our drugstores. Now I'm using it sparingly, just for special occasions. At first it smells spicy and then it turns to a lovely rose scent with leathery feel to it.

L'oreal Color Riche Le Vernis a L'Huile
672 Gris Decadent, 556 Grenat Irreverent
Only nail polishes I've found so far that last on my nails whole 4 days. So imagine how happy I was, when I discovered them. Mine apply evenly, without any visible streaks and it's opacity is on point. Definitely my favorite drugstore nail polishes. The bottle itself is stunning, something unique, something different from those standard drugstore nail polish bottles.

Batiste
XXL Volume
My favorite one out of Batiste dry shampoos. It gives me that volume that I miss in scented version and god knows I need it. I have a feeling that it does it's job better with removing greasiness than scented version.

Primark candles
I burn scented candles like crazy. So basically I'm a candle junkie. These are cheap, yet they smell nice. Smell is not intense by any means, but for 1€ price tag they smell just enough. They have nice minimalistic jar packaging (I re-use most of the jars).

Klaas
I know he doesn't fall into beauty category, but I'm a big animal lover, so I have to mention it. For ages I have only cats, yes crazy cat lady and in September 2016 me and my boyfriend got a pitbull puppy. Named him Klaas, because my bestfriend has a dog named Joko. If you ever watched Circus Halligalli, you know where the names are from. If you think he's dangerous beacause of his breed, you're wrong. He adores people and likes to cuddle a lot.

Catrice

Review: Catrice Stylo Eyeshadow Pen 030 Copper and Paste

03:15:00

Packaging: Black packaging with copper lid and on the back of the "pen" is a hidden sharpener. They have a twist up design, but you can't twist the product back in, which is a bummer.

Texture: It's very easy to blend and it has shimmer in it. Compared to Artdeco High Performance Eyeshadow Stylo this one doesn't loose as much pigment when it's blended and it needs more time to set.

Color: Light copper with some orange undertones.

Staying power: With a primer underneath and powder eyeshadow over the top it stays on my lids for around 10 hours without creasing.

Price and availability: You can get it in drugstores for around 4€.

Have you tried them yet? What do you think of them?

essence

Review: Essence Matt Matt Matt Lipstick 08 It's a Statement

00:27:00

Probably you already heard a lot of people rave about new Matt Matt Matt lipsticks from Essence. I'm all about matt lipsticks, so I had to try it out. When I swatched it in the store, it seemed better than their previous matt version of lipsticks. So I decided to take the shade 08 It's a Statement, since it was screaming fall to me.

Texture: It's creamy, but a little bit patchy. I need 3 layers to make it even. Because of that, I prefer to use it with a lipliner underneath. Pigmentation is good, compared to their previous matt line it's way better in my opinion. The finish is semi-matt.

Color: In the tube it looks brown, but once you swatch it or put it on the lips it's deep cool toned burgundy shade.

Staying Power: The staying power is not that impressive. This shade wears off horribly, everytime I drink or smoke I have to reapply it, since it wears off very patchy. Even if you do nothing, it still wears off patchy. I could not say how long this could last, but for me definetely not more than 1 hour.

Scent: Reminds me on fruity vanilla scent.

Packaging: I like the packaging, it seems to be sturdy enough and better quality than the previos matt version (one of mine is broken). The lid is the same color as lipstick, but you can still see trough it.

Price and availability: You can get it in drugstores for around 3€.

Overall I have love-hate feelings about this lipstick. I adore the shade, but I won't be wearing it a lot since it needs high maintenance. Reapplying every hour or less is not what I really want. I like that Essence improved the finish, now it looks properly semi-matte and the packaging is also better, but the lipsticks still lack of longevity. And for that price point you can still find better ones, such as Golden Rose or Jordana.

What do you think about new Matt Matt Matt lipsticks?

September & October Favorites

BIOBAZA MEN FACE & SHAVE

I've had this for about two months and I'm very impressed by it. I actually bought it because Mad About Red was raving about it. Since I've started using it my skin has been much clearer. I still get pimples, blackheads or whiteheads now and then, but it's nothing massive as before. And even when I get them, they dissappear much faster. At the start I was using it once a day and then I started using it only when I had a breakout. Now I'm using it only for shaving, since I'm testing some other products for face. Even for shaving it's doing wonders for me, razor glides smoothly and what's best, I don't get that weird rashes on my legs after shaving with it. I'm pretty much upset, since I can't find it anywhere anymore and all of my backups I gave away (they were all impressed with it).

ESSENCE LIPLINER 11 IN THE NUDE
I like lipliners from Essence, because they're good and very affordable. I prefer these over the longlasting ones, since I feel they last on my lips longer. The formula is creamy, but not too much so it would break and the pigmentation is great. I noticed that the first few uses it was less creamy, then it is now. I also noticed that at the start it made my lips a little bit dry.

NYX EXTRA CREAMY ROUND LIPSTICK THALIA
I'm not a fan of lipsticks with creamy finish, so I tought I woudn't like this one. But I was so wrong, it's perfect, my lips but better color. On it's own, it's quite messy, since it gets on my teeth. That's why I like to pair it with Essence lipliner in the nude. It stays on my lips for around 2 hours with drinking, so it isn't quite longlasting, but it is very comftarble to wear.

CATRICE STYLO EYESHADOW PEN 030 COPPER AND PASTE
I have a huge weakness for coppery shades. So yes, I got this because of the color. I'm planning to write a review for this one, so I'll keep it short here. In the tube it actually looks prettier, but that doesn't bother me as much, since it has good pigmented, it's easy blendable and longlasting.

ARTDECO 3 IN 1 MAKEUP FIXING SPRAY
I've had this for a while, but I was waiting with using it, since I wanted to use up Nyx matte setting spray. I didn't use it a lot, but it blew my mind with the first use. I must admit, that this one is way better than Nyx matte setting spray. It makes my makeup look flawless for 11 hours, while Nyx one manages only for 7 hours. This setting spray is a total winner for me and probably the best one you can get in Slovenian drugstores.

Top to bottom: Essence lipliner In the Nude, Nyx Thalia, Catrice Stylo Eyeshadow Pen 030 Copper and Paste.
And the main reason I've been absent from my blog is that me and my boyfriend got a dog. We got a pitbull and named him Klaas. It's a bit unusual name, but if you're watching Circus Halligalli, you know where the name came from. I really wanted to give all my attention to him, take him to walk and so.
